Made it to St. Petersburg

Captain's Log: 7 July, 2014; Hour: 1434

We made good time today and made it all the way to St. Petersburg in time to do the show. We'll stay the night here and assess our options on crossing the gulf in the morning.

Yesterday docked in Venice, FL

  1. Uncle Phil,

I am a big fan of your show. I listen as much as I can during the day but, the time conflicts with work.

It is cool that you got the boat up and running and even cooler that you went through the area where I basically grew up. I lived not far from Indiantown in Okeechobee. I used to know the area there like the back of my hand. My dad would take me all over the place fishing.

You turned in at Stuart Fl. One of my old haunts. I used to go to Hutchinson Island near there and surf fish.

Your travel plans include Carabelle, been there many times on later fishing trips with friends and a memorable day there "sport eating" when the wether was too rough to go out.

Then on to Mobile to hit the Mississippi. Spent many working days in Mobile and going through the tunnels to get to the other side. I currently live near Pensacola in a little town called Milton.

I was wondering what the boat looked like. It is a grand one and you are lucky to be its new owner and Captain. I love the water and it's tranquility that it brings just being near it.

I worry about our country Phil and the direction that it is headed. Sometimes you hit a nerve and I want to call in and voice my anger over what our government is doing to this great nation.

Keep up the good fight sir. We need more like you telling the truth and getting the word out.

Thanks for all that you do and good cruising!
